Executed in the Louis XV Rococo style, the frame is decorated with carved shell and floral motifs highlighted with gilt over a soft blue-green painted ground. The upper painting depicts a romantic couple in a countryside landscape with sheep; a classic decorative motif found in French interiors.
With its 65-inch height, this trumeau mirror was designed as an architectural focal point, traditionally hung above a fireplace mantel or console table. The piece retains a beautifully aged patina that adds warmth and character to any interior.
