Mid-19th Century French Provincial Buffet à Deux Corps, Circa 1850

Mid-19th Century French Provincial Buffet à Deux Corps, Circa 1850

SKU:CN2841025-151

A beautifully carved mid-19th century French Provincial buffet à deux corps, crafted in the Louis XV style and dating to approximately 1850–1870.

This two-part cabinet features richly carved medallions, floral and foliate motifs, and flowing rococo scrollwork throughout. The upper cabinet is fitted with sliding paneled doors — a traditional mid-19th century provincial feature — revealing a bold red patterned interior. The wood runner system operates smoothly and adds both functionality and period authenticity.

The lower section presents two carved drawers above paneled cabinet doors, framed by sculpted aprons and cabriole legs. The patina is warm and naturally aged, with depth and tonal variation that highlights the grain and hand-carved detailing.

At 53 inches wide, this piece offers strong architectural presence without overwhelming a space, making it ideal for dining rooms, entryways, or layered designer interiors seeking authentic French character.
